Ka Puāwai Te Reo

About

Ka Puāwai Te Reo invites intermediate learners to expand their fluency through lessons 15 to 21, utilizing the Te Ataarangi methodology to make complex grammatical structures visible and intuitive. In this phase of the journey, we use the rākau to map out the intricate world of relationships and possession, beginning with a deep dive into Tūpou (pronouns) in their singular (Taki Tahi), dual (Taki Rua), and plural (Taki Tini) forms. By physically manipulating the rods, you will internalize the nuances of "us" and "them" while mastering the art of the Pātai (question) to seek clarity in conversation. The programme then navigates the essential foundations of Rirohanga (possession), systematically covering the T, A, N, and M categories. This hands-on approach allows you to "see" the difference between dominant and subordinate possession and the varying ways we belong to our world. Through this immersion experience, the language truly begins to blossom (puāwai), transforming technical grammar into natural, rhythmic speech.
